FLOOD

A Volunteer Network for Active Participation in Healthcare, 1992-95 (with Haha: Wendy Jacob, Richard House, John Ploof, and later, the participants of FLOOD); initially sponsored by Sculpture Chicago, "Culture in Action.”

A community art project based in the Roger's Park neighborhood of Chicago.  Vegetables grown in this storefront hydroponic garden were distributed to HIV/AIDS service agencies in the Chicago area.  The garden also served as a site for education on issues surrounding AIDS and healthcare.  We continued the project past its initial sponsorship for three additional years; after that, it continued through new relationships formed between service organizations brought together through FLOOD.
